Combining old school rock and roll with a wistful romantic side, Lady Low are are celebrating the release of their new single 'Burning Like a Fever'. Having premiered the video online, the LA band are hoping their brand of string infused rock will capture the imagination of rock fans around the globe.

Mark Anthony debut single, 'An 80s Vibe', mixes hip hop and retro to fun effect

Released on December 21st via all the usual digital outlets, the new single from Mark Anthony is something a little different. Taking a look back at growing up in the 80s, it's a rap song with an indelibly upbeat feel which gives it a real sense of fun. In a genre that takes itself too seriously sometimes, 'An 80s Vibe' really stands out as an alternative.

Build a 'Fanbase', not a 'friendbase'

All independent musicians have been there – a sold-out first gig, because the curiosity of all our family and friends have led to them buying a ticket and coming along to see what you've been pestering them about. Then comes the second gig, with slightly fewer people. Then a third, then a fourth. Eventually, you're left playing to just girlfriends/boyfriends and (if you're lucky) family who feel obliged to come – having already irritated everyone else into submission with your gig reminders.

The difficulty is switching from playing gigs to people you already know, to attracting new fans who don't know you. Yet. Here's a few ideas as to how you can do that:
